Literature Text
On the verge of tears,
Speaking your name
Brings peace to my heart
Like a half forgotten, yet ever sweet dream,
Bringing back memories of you...
The reasons why I love you.
Weeks pass into months,
And months remain months alone,
And yet with you, I already feel grown old.
My heart burns with gentle intensity,
Yearning for you.
Every desire, every fire in my heart,
Every shred of my soul,
Lives for you,
Breathes for you.
Your voice is a symphony
To my ears that have long been deaf 'til now.
Your face, as bright and as beautiful as the sun
To my eyes that have long been blinded to such beauty.
You are in the workmanship of my heart,
The tapestry of my soul,
And other romantic clichés,
That are overdone for a reason.
There are only so many ways to say
I love you.

He Loves Me Not
A rose sat on the table,
He promised it would never die,
And when it was worn and withered,
I did not cry.
It's not what I expected,
I knew the rose would not grow,
Into a lumbering, majestic tree,
That in the wind would flow.
The petals fell, one by one,
Browned under the burning sun,
Scattered across the table and chairs,
Worn and withered without a care.
And when the rose finally snapped,
I let out a deep sigh,
The weight of the world,
Broke its' neck,
But I did not cry.
I already knew what to think,
When I saw your face,
But I learned how not to speak,
When it wasn't my time or place.
I played your little game,

Dreams
At first, I had many dreams:
Of flying, of shining,
Of smiling and laughing.
I wanted to bring peace;
I wanted to bring love;
And make my voice heard.
But nobody listened,
Nobody cared.
Everyone laughed,
Threw me aside,
And buried any memory of me.
Now, I just want to be happy.
Literature
Always
Did you know your eyes shimmer when you laugh?
And your cheeks flush
Did you know you make my heart swell?
And you erase all the bad things
Each night
As the darkness swallows me
I imagine that I am holding you in my arms
And I drift into dreams of you heart beating close to mine
All through the icy winters
Thoughts of you keep me warm
I need to hear your voice
I need to feel your touch
I need to share the beauty of life with you
So it's a good thing we have years to spend together
Erin, my anchor, I love you
Always
And with everything I have in me
I want you for exactly who you are

This is one of your best poems so far. I particularly like the way you lead up to the last two lines.
